This guide aims to provide some reading keys for young players – minors in most cases – and their surrounding community on a path fraught with challenges towards a career as a professional footballer. This guide was born from a very simple double observation: families of aspiring footballers sometimes feel lost in the flood of information they receive from various sources (clubs, scouts, agents, intermediaries, lawyers, other parents…); the same questions systematically arise when it is time to sign the first contractual documents and to receive a first payment that can prove to be significant. The authors, lawyers specialized in issues and disputes related to sports, want to reassure all those involved in this new adventure and demystify the world of football.
